VICE PRESIDENT TO RICHARD NIXON / #37

  • Born Leslie Lynch King, Jr.

  • Right-handed when standing and left-handed when sitting.

  • Used to model — was on a steamy Cosmo cover.

  • The Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers both tried to recruit him, but he turned them down for law school.

  • To pay for college, he got a job coaching football and (during the off season) coaching boxing. He’d never boxed before.

  • Brought in to replace the super-duper corrupt Spiro Agnew so that when Nixon was ousted, he wouldn’t be replaced with someone even worse.

  • A tamale faux-pas may have cost him Texas (it was the last time Texas went Democrat).

Heather Rogers, America's Preeminent Presidential Doodler

Heather isn’t a historian, an academic, or an impartial storyteller… but she has read more than one book about every U.S. president. Out of spite. She was dubbed America’s Preeminent Presidential Doodler by one of her favorite authors and she’s been repeating it ever since. When she’s not reading or doodling history books, she’s a freelance graphic designer and illustrator.
