  • His first wife was his teacher; she was the only pre-20th century First Lady to continue working after marriage.

  • Hard to find many redeeming qualities in this doughface.

  • I’m not a fan.

  • Nobody thought to vet this guy at all before making him president because what could possibly go wrong, even though there was precedent for it going wrong before.

  • Was for a long time the only president to sign a prenup (guessing that’s no longer the case). The agreement was to protect the wealthy widow he married.

  • Got married in the same room as Alexander Hamilton! Not at the same time.
